In Pro Kabaddi Season 10, Puneri Paltan shone at the Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium, defeating Haryana Steelers in a commanding manner with a massive 51-36 victory in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 at the Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium in Panchkula on Monday.
Haryana Steelers and Puneri Paltan are set to clash against each other in the 129th match of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). With the final leg of the season underway in Panchkula, six teams have already secured their berths in the playoffs. Both Haryana Steelers and Puneri Paltan are also set to feature in the knockout stage. Though their qualification has been confirmed, Haryana Steelers and Puneri Paltan will aim to win their remaining matches in a bid to gain some confidence ahead of the playoffs. The head-to-head fixture between these two powerhouses was held at the Tau Devilal indoor stadium in Panchkula on February 19.
Puneri Paltan are currently at the top of the PKL standings. They have accumulated 86 points by winning 15 of their 20 matches this season. Puneri Paltan took on Bengal Warriors in their last appearance and claimed a narrow victory by three points. Meanwhile, the Haryana Steelers are now the sixth team in the PKL table. They have been quite dominant in the last few matches. Haryana Steelers will also enter the next game as the favourites due to their home advantage. They hope to pick up a few more points from the remaining games to better their position in the standings.
Akash Shinde made a fantastic start for Puneri Paltan with a multi-point raid, putting the Steelers immediately under pressure. Steelers spent the next few minutes on the defensive, needing a super tackle to stop the early all-out and keep them within reach. As they felt they were gradually gaining momentum, the Paltan inflicted an all-out to take a 12-7 lead.
In the controlled second quarter of the game, the Steelers not only made a comeback but also gained a lead. Vinay's super raid to eliminate Abinesh Nadarajan, Pankaj Mohite, and Gaurav Khatri turned the tide in favor of the Paltan. Mohit Goyat's individual brilliance saved the Paltan from an all-out, and immediately after, Mohammadreza Chianeh made a strong comeback for the Paltan with a superb super tackle. He inflicted a second all-out to extend their lead to 11 points which they secured by halftime.
In the second half, the Steelers rallied again to make a comeback, with Goyat single-handedly inflicting a breakthrough. He secured a third all-out to increase their lead during the break.
Despite the struggle in the final quarter, the Steelers left themselves too much to handle and overcome, saving themselves from further embarrassment with a series of super tackles, but it was not enough to prevent the Paltan from securing a comprehensive victory.
